Cafe Mezzanotte, that lovely repository of authentic Italian fare that Severna Parkers keep trying to save for themselves. Everything about Cafe Mezz is warm and welcoming, from the casual elegance of the decor to the expert service.

Are you aware that you have a lovely little Neopolitan jewel in your midst? Considering that Cafe Mezzanotte had such a Wednesday night crowd that a wait for a table was necessary (Who knew we would need a reservation for a Wednesday!), it would seem evident that many of you already know. Even though the restaurant was operating at near-capacity, the serving staff exhibited a serene and professional demeanor. Not only were we receiving excellent well-timed service at our table, but it was easy to see that others as well were the beneficiaries of that same adroit and seamless service.

Somewhere between the artist and the workman stands the artisan –one who strives to master a craft to bring satisfaction to customers. The artisan is free of the tantrums and runaway prices of the culinary artiste, yet possesses the style and substance that defines the classic tradition in an ethnic cuisine. At Cafe Mezzanotte, the area gains a needed middle ground, with better-than-average, more-authentic-than-usual Neapolitan cooking at moderate prices.

Cafe Mezzanotte should certainly be ranked among our better restaurants. The food is upscale, value is good, and its a really pleasant room. We’d be happy to go back.

There’s great food to be found right around the corner. And while the name of one of the most popular local restaurants, Cafe Mezzanotte, means “midnight” in the romantic language of the Italian eatery, don’t wait until that hour to find a table for two or for your entire club or office.
